Fabric Recommendations

Any sort of light to medium weight woven is suitable for making this honeybee short, such as cotton, poplin, rayon, linen, and crepe. 

For this pattern, I highly recommend Dailylike 20C Fabric (100% cotton) in my store.  All the shorts I made with this pattern shown in the listing pictures, I made them with Dailylike 20C Fabric.

Refer to the Kid's Size Chart to roughly determine the pattern size based on the child's height and weight. (This garment is designed with a relaxed fit; the kid's size chart is usually sufficient to choose the correct size.)

To fine-tune, measure your kid's chest and shoulder width, add ease (extra room), and compare with the Finished Garment Measurement Chart to confirm your pattern size. I recommend choosing the size or sizes that are closest to your kid's height based on Kid's Size Chart for this garment.

Fabric requirements are based on a 57’’ width. If your main fabric is narrower, please increase the yardage accordingly.

What is included in the Learning Kit or DIY Kit?

Our kits are "all-in-one" experiences. Each kit includes pre-cut kraft paper patterns, fabric, interfacing, hardware, zippers, notions and a step-by-step printed photo booklet. There are also detailed video tutorials on YouTube and TikTok for each project. You can find the full item list in the product description for each product.
Note: Sewing tools such as scissors, needles, rulers etc. are not included unless specified. But you can find them all in my store for purchase.

I am a total beginner. Are these patterns/kits too hard for me?

Not at all! The instruction booklets feature clear, real-life photos for every step. Plus, the tutorial videos are there to guide you through every stitch.

Can I buy the finished products instead of a kit?

Yes! I enjoy sewing for you and have put all my handmade in "Handmade" section of my shop. If you can’t find a specific piece or would like a custom order, feel free to contact me.

Do you sell the patterns separately as digital downloads?

Yes! Almost every paper pattern has the digital download (PDF Pattern) for your preference. You can find them in the “PDF Patterns” section of my shop.

Where can I find the Youtube videos for the projects?

You can find detailed sewing tutorial for every pattern at Lisa Bell channel, and the sewing technique tutorial at Lisa Bell Sewing channel on YouTube. I also include specific YouTube and TikTok QR code right inside each instruction booklet for easy access.

Where do you ship to?
